The author’s interest in history and genealogy led to his first book of family stories with pictures titled Bloodroot: 101 Dadmations, and was published in 2009 by AuthorHouse. A second book titled Bloodroot: 100 Dadmations is a companion volume to the first book having collected additional family stories, published by AuthorHouse in 2025. This book Lily Among Thorns is a collection of fictional, short, mature-themed, romance stories.

This compilation of family stories, as poems, is to preserve them from being lost to memory. Bloodroot was the name of a plant displayed in my botany class at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
