During her early years, Julia Quinn read extensively and developed a love for books and began her writing career while attending Harvard University. Her debut novel, Splendid, was published in 1995, and she later gained widespread recognition with the release of The Duke and I, the first book in her beloved Bridgerton series, in 2000. Set in Regency England, this series follows the romantic journeys of the eight Bridgerton siblings. In 2020, the series was adapted by Netflix into an eight-part production by Shondaland Media. The show quickly became an immense success, receiving multiple award nominations. The remaining books in the series are currently slated for production and release.

Julia Quinn has authored multiple series, short story collections, non-fiction titles and stand- alone novels such as What Happens in London, Ten Things I Love About You, and Just Like Heaven, with more captivating stories in the works every year. Her novel, The Viscount Who Loved Me, earned her the prestigious Romance Writers of America's RITA Award for Best Regency Historical Romance in 2004 and won the Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award for Best Historical Romance. In addition to her writing, Quinn is an active philanthropist and supporter of various causes surrounding literacy and the arts.
