Set in the tumultuous American Civil War, a young Confederate Naval Officer, John Kirk Fulbright, meets some of the most notable people of the time. With manpower shortages, he finds himself conscripted into service with the Army, where he serves throughout the Atlanta Campaign. Part three of this four part series has Joe's ship preventing a mutiny of the transport ship they are escorting from England to the Colonies. After parting company with the transport ship Joe's ship is attacked and his captain is injured.
