It is intended to give students enough background in linear algebra to work with systems of equations and data in geology, hydrology, geophysics, or whatever part of the Earth Sciences they engage with. The book does not presuppose any extensive prior knowledge of linear algebra. Instead, the book builds students up from a low base to a working understanding of...

They could not listen they're not listening still, perhaps they never will…Don MacleanThere is treasure inside all of us, but we must be willing to dig for it. When that cache is located, if we share what is found with a loving, open heart, we will witness it increase in value. This value perpetuates itself as the message is accepted by others.Watching my truth spill out onto the white like so much blood, I am in rapture, consumed by what is being accepted. Acceptance gives...

The RecollectorI am the watcher, the memory, a wanderer and a collector. You can't discern me, but I leave my footprint. Very young children and animals can detect me sometimes – their parents or owners catch a glimpse as a result. This is not a role anybody wants, no; ego has no place here. It needs to be removed before one can resume the process; an arduous task.I'm just a warrior, I'm not even sure what that means, I know that love and k...

I wish I could say that, I had enough. That life had taught me a lesson, and it was time for me to move on and get my life in order. No, that lost soul that found himself half dead in the mud, had many more trials to endure; more challenges, with his own demise hanging in the balance. He was still oblivious to what was going on around him, most of all, he felt small, insignificant. He felt like he was a lower form of life, a slug, that's how he viewed himself. Perhaps if he had gone as low...

This is more than a bunch of crazy stories, it’s a responsibility. How strong is denial? How much can a person justify? There is no limit to the number of lies one person will believe, even perpetuate to advance their program. When that agenda falls under the influence of something else, something dark and insidious, a thing that has been waiting patiently to feed on what is left of his withered spirit? While it waits, he is being prepared so this creature can absorb whatev...

The coldest cases from Middletown, USA With dozens of unsolved murders spanning decades, Muncie and surrounding Delaware County might have more killings without justice than any American community like it. In 1962, Maggie Mae Fleming was shot to death as she sat in her living room. Paula Garrett was bludgeoned in her home in 1979, and her son, who survived the attack, wants justice. Garth Rector, killed in 2008, could have been murdered by any number of people he knew--or dated. Journalist...

On a warm night in September 1985, teenagers Kimberly Dowell and Ethan Dixon were brutally murdered in Westside Park in Muncie, Indiana. Their killer has never been charged. Early on, police focused on a family member of one of the teens as a primary suspect. The investigation even ruled out fantastic scenarios, including a theory that the perpetrator was a Dungeons & Dragons devotee. The case grew cold. Only decades later did a dogged police investigator narrow the scope to a suspect whos...

Explore the notorious and unusual side of Muncie's history.Muncie is the classic small American city. But for much of the past two centuries, the city fell victim to murder, corruption and the bizarre. Mayor Rollin Bunch went to prison for mail fraud, while his police commissioner faced a murder rap. Viola "Babe" Swartz ran a brothel out of a truck stop that was raided by police at least a dozen times but ran for sheriff in the 1974 primary election. June Holland, ...
