Meet agent Osamu Mikumo, not the best, but along with his Neighbor friend Yuma, he’ll do whatever it takes to defend life on Earth as we know it.

Mysterious Neighbors allied with Tamakoma meet with Osamu and friends over the recent developments at Border and Hyuse joining their squad. While everyone is hashing out new strategies, Ema from Kageura squad considrs throwing his next match against Tamakoma-2 to help Chika stay with her friends on the away mission. But Arafune reminds Ema that he also has the power to protect Chika on the away team!

The exam to determine who gets to be on the away team begins, and the challenges facing Tamakoma-2 and the other squads selected to participate are piling up fast! All of the squads are split up into new teams and assigned captains of varying skill and experience. The teams are then sent to live aboard a simulated away-mission ship where they must complete a series of individual and group tests. Osamu successfully convinces Border HQ to allow Hyuse to join their squad, and now the moody Neighbor from Aftokrator must make his way up through the C-Rank Wars to officially become part of the team. Meanwhile, Tamakoma-2 gears up for another B-Rank Wars match against the analytical Oji Squad and the unconventional Ikoma Squad. How will Tamakoma-2 handle a squad that operates almost exactly like they do and another squad that doesn’t even seem to care that there’s a match going on?!

Day six of the Sealed Environment Phase commences, and Wakamura’s Squad relies on Hyuse’s knowledge to complete their assignments. Yuma's Neighbor identity revealed, the Tamakoma branch safeguards Yuma, Osamu and Chika by recruiting them to their group of powerhouses and eccentrics. But Border headquarters wants Yuma’s Black Trigger badly enough to send agents from its top three squads to steal it!

It’s the final day of the battle simulation exercises, and the formerly superior Ninomiya’s Squad 8 is in decline now that others are exploiting the weaknesses of Chika’s units. While Chika grows more and more frustrated, Ninomiya himself is keeping tight-lipped about the whole thing… That night, it all comes to a head when an irritated Ema confronts Ninomiya!

Should Border admit a Neighbor into its ranks? Jin and Arashiyama Squad think so, and they clash against headquarters’ top agents to preserve Yuma’s right to enlist. After a brutal fight against his friends and peers, Jin makes an unimaginable sacrifice to put an end to the hostility and protect Yuma’s future at Border.

The final match of the B-Rank Wars is coming up, and while some of the competition looks familiar, an unfamiliar squad is thrown into the mix—Yuba Squad. While Osamu and Yuma go to scout them out, Hyuse and the rest of Tamakoma help Chika come to terms with her insecurities and get to the root of her inability to shoot people. With the match looming, will Tamakoma-2 be able to pull it together in time to go up against new and old foes?!

Border headquarters is abuzz with gossip about talented new rookies Yuma and Chika. But it’s Osamu who attracts the most attention when an A-Rank agent challenges him to a duel.
